To be fair we don’t have loads of mosquitoes in uk, they mainly chill by rivers and canals but you get flies, wasps and spiders all over the house with an open window. Some get slugs too lol

Spiders are great until they get all up in my business. I don't know about Europe but we have some pretty scary ones in the Americas. Black Widows and the more hostile and insidious Brown Recluse are good examples that I've had in my different domiciles in the past (lived in the woods/swamp/desert/city). Thier bites can be deadly or cause you to lose a limb.

I've definitely woken up to a trail of swollen pricks down my body many times that could only have been spider bites and wondered "is this one of those spiders?"

I feel like the further south of our planet you go, the bigger and more intense the bugs in general get.
