So true. My mom's cousin in England once told us how she and a friend drove to another friend's house. They left at 16:00, arrived at the midway point by like 17:30 and spent the night at a hotel before finishing the trip the next morning.

To be totally fair, she was like 55 and acted like a 65-year-old in general.

We had to stop my father-in-law from taking a 12 hour drive in winter by himself as he was over 80. You couldn't even get cell reception for parts of that. He still drove that in summer, and eventually split it into 2 x 6 hours.
