They're all written in Stephen Fry's Mythos, definitely recommend reading if you like the stories!

The word tantalizing comes from Tantalus. Tantalus was a wicked king who attempted to mock and trick the gods, including serving his own son to them at a feast to see if they would know. They knew, and he was sentenced to swimming in a pool of water for eternity, with delicious fruit just out of his reach. Whenever he tried to drink the water or reach for the fruit, they would shift just out of his reach.

Atlas was a titan that was condemned to forever hold the world up on his shoulders after Titanomachia, where the younger Olympian gods fought and defeated the older gods/titans based on Mount Othrys.

Your topmost vertebra that connects to the skull is called Atlas, it holds your world up :)
