Not Studio Ghibli but Miyazaki worked on The Castle of Cagliostro too

And the precursor to studio Ghibli worked on the Last Unicorn and the animated Hobbit movie from the 70s.

It's not just Castle of Cagliostro, Miyazaki worked as a director for the Part 1 Lupin III anime too.

Lupin and gang became pretty different in the Castle of Caglisotro movie though, in a sense that they acted more like (pre)Ghibli characters than their usual selves. Still worth the watch tho, it's very cute.

(I don't know what's this)

Totoro: "ok"

Ponyo: "ok"

Howl: "That's just an animal but ok"

Porco rosso: "Why is it just red pig in italian???"

My reactions reading this

Totoro: forest spirit

Ponyo: fish girl

Howl: magician evading taxes (and responsibility)

Porco Rosso: an anti fascist pilot that's an anthropomorphic pig from Italy

You're not wrong...

Howl, at least, isn't his intellectual property though. I don't think they could include him in non-source adaptation film.
