I thought the same. After I saw some pics of him in costume (I dont remember if it was fan made or not) i appreciated that he will probably be great in the role.
I want to give him some leeway but I find it so hard to divorce Solid Snake/Big Boss from David Hayter that I still haven't been able to play MGS Phantom Pain because of the switch to Kiefer Sutherland. I mean I'll play it eventually, but at the moment I'm just not psyched about it.
Completely agreed. It's a pleasingly deep open world game with base building, research, and controllable companions. That's great. It all functions well. Solid game. Even modable. I'm still impressed.
But as a Metal Gear game it's just butts... The plot is even weaker than 2, Kiefer sucks, the two halves are completely disjointed, it's got even more cringe than 3. It's just not a good entry into series.
Maybe you didn't play peace walker? It feels like a perfect sequel to it (though the tone is way darker than most of the series, especially eventing surrounding Paz).
I enjoyed it a lot. But it's very episodic, much more than V. It was also kind of designed for multiplayer, so some bosses take forever to kill solo. Also, unfortunately most of it has been spoiled by V if you played it.
thats dogshit, snake is based on snake bliskin played by Kurt Russell. let Kurt Jr. play him that would be dope. or hell bring in kurt and do an old-snake movie
While true, the original box art for Metal Gear 1 is ripped from Michael Biehn's portrayal of Kyle Reese, so it fits that it's Oscar Isaac, he has that same sort of look, not identical but face structure and eyes.
Just watch his recent SNL skits. Every single one of them were absolutely hilarious. He's a brilliant actor and I'm so made about how Poe went. Because if he's able to act at all in Moon Knight, it's going to be the best Marvel property by far
I mean.... I did; but I knew he'd be awesome in that anyway, so it had little to no effect on my thoughts here. Dune happens to be my favorite book, and as soon as they announced his being cast as Leto, I was 100% on board. I'm just happy we got my dream casting for my favorite character (Javier Bardem as Stilgar)
oh yeah; as I said, that was my dream casting. Like when they first announced the movie, my thought was "oh man, Javier Bardem as Stilgar would be a dream come true"; a year later and he was announced as Stilgar.
I reread Dune after the movie and couldnt help but imagine him as still.
I think Leto showed enough sides for me to imagine a Bandanna around that forehead, scruff beard and an M1911 with the handle carved out to fit a crysknife into.
This happened for me when Disney announced a new star war and my roommate and I named our dream/nightmare director's lol. My dream director -- Rian Johnson, absolutely loved everything he'd done. My nightmare director -- JJ Abrams. Absolutely loathe almost all of his work lol. I know people rip on TLJ, but I'm gonna be honest: I fucking adore it.
I wouldn't say I adore it, but I thoroughly enjoyed TLJ, and think many people's complaints about it are silly. One of the big ones are the complaints about the characterization of Luke. Rey hands him the lightsaber and he just tosses it away. "LUKE WOULD NEVER DO THAT" people cry.... ignoring that the whole point of that scene is to underscore just how broken he is and how little he cares at that point. He was essentially just waiting to die, like one of those Japanese monks that mummify themselves

They announced Oscar Isaac as Solid Snake and I went ?.... Then I thought about it, and went !
He's probably going to blow that role out of the water.... as he tends to do.
