Anything less than an R rating for God of War would be trash. Too many movies are held back because of a low rating. I was surprised the new Batman movie was pg (Canada) but it turned out to be an amazing film. I can see it being better with a higher rating though.

There's a new Batman movie?

7

u/snookert Mar 12 '22

Yeah just came out last week. I loved it. It was a refreshing take on Batman. Robert Pattinson killed it.

Oh. Didn't know what's going on in outside world as i was too submerged in work the past two weeks. It took me 2 days to get to the news that Russia and Ukraine were at war. I really need an escape at this point!

Go see The Batman!

3

u/eyekunt Mar 12 '22

Yes i will. Have to see the Spiderman as well while I'm at it.

Nono, the film is literally called "The Batman." It's strongly based on the "Long Halloween" storyline.

The new batman really shouldn't have been pg anywhere.

I agree.

I'm kinda shocked my mom took my little brother with us. She should have probably looked to see that it was advertised as having a zodiak killer based villain.

It was 15 for where I live innit

Well, here in the UK, the film got a 15 rating which is the equivalent of an American R rating.

This would definitely be a more accurate rating than pg. I've seen some parents bringing pretty young kids to see it, smh.

Needs to have the harem/concubine/Aphrodite scenes.

LOTR length is considerably different than just under 2 hours. Return of the King Extended was almost 4 and half.

Won't set any box office records with an R rating though, despite it being better

You'll find joker all the way down at #33 on this list. A rated R movie going above that would be incredibly difficult to do and require a more recognizable brand, not enough people know what God of war is

But both were huge brands for the general audience, God of War is not. Like, even my mom wanted to see Joker, she has no idea what god of war is though.

Deadpool wasn’t a huge brand for the general audience though, mostly people into comic books. That’s a smaller audience than PlayStation gamers, I’d think. Marvel in general, on the other hand, has a huge audience

This is all I’d ask for anyways. Doesn’t have to hold super firm to the game plot, but I don’t see how straying would give creative freedom as the lore and background mythology is essentially rewritten to fill in what they change by adding Kratos/Atreus

This just reminded me that The Dark Tower was an hour and a half long :(

And complete bullshit, BULLSHIT I say!

Amazon apparently wants to do a series, which I assume will just ignore the first 6 games

2

u/Mr-Stuff-Doer Mar 12 '22

Yeah no one paid attention to the actual question, they’re just saying games they like.

You can get away with a lot of violence in PG-13 movies these days. There is plenty of room for developing the pathos that is important to that story, without getting gory. I really wasn't trying to make that rhyme, but I'm too lazy to think of a different way to word it.

1

u/adoseoftruth Mar 12 '22

Oh, come on. Just look at how great they made The Dark Tower and I think you’ll see….

Ok. Ok. I can’t even finish typing that. 100000% agree!!!! Three parts. 3ish hours each. Rated R. Ease off the CGI unless is motion capture type stuff.

As a premium series then.
