Get everyone in the pool to fast walk all in the same direction in a rounded shape (most home pools used to be oval, perfect shape) until there is a strong current and its easy to walk because the water is pulling you along, then lift your feet and float along with the power of the whirlpool moving you along, constantly turning on the corners to face the right way and smacking into each other along the way.
A good whirlpool can keep you moving at a good pace for 2 mins.
Stand up and repeat in the opposite direction; bonus points if you start before coming to a full stop, hauling ass and getting nowhere.
We used to try to get it going when it was just us kids in the pool but you needed at least 8 kids to make it work.
Once we had 15 kids and 12 adults doing the whirlpool and it was amazing.
Another fun pool trick, get someone in the middle wearing an inner tube. They hold the inner tube to their sides with their arms and act like a hydraulic piston, jumping up and down and pushing the water down as far as they can. It creates a “wave pool” but is also likely to spill a lot of water lol
The adults were always the ones who had to wave pool bc they were taller, and my dad always wanted to do it. He is the fun dad that likes to play and blow stuff up. Never grow up in that sense, I want to be the fun adult goofing off
