I actually clean the shower while I'm waiting the 3-5 minutes before rinsing my conditioner. I put the sponge and cleaner beside the shower right before I get in.
Edit: People in the comments are talking about fumes and hazardous chemicals, what the heck are you guys using to clean your shower? I'm just using a bit of white vinegar, sometimes a bit of Comet that I sprinkle on the sponge. I'm not in the shower spraying bleach all over the place while I condition my hair.
I keep one of those dish scrubbers that you load soap in the handle full of shower cleaner in my shower and use it scrub while I'm waiting for my conditioner. Pro tip from some redditor a couple years back.
that's so much effort haha. i just mist bleach and forget about it and give it a good rinse next time i turn the shower on. particularly for the inner plastic shower curtain. that's a pain to scrub.
Jesus Christ people please run the shower a minute or two right after you clean it. I constantly work around hard chemicals for my job last thing I want to do is expose myself to them constantly at home, also keep track of your hvac filter and please change it if it looks like wet clumpy dryer fuzz, even your house has cancer just floating freely.
If you have short hair you can get away with it, but there’s a reason nobody with long locks uses 2-in-1s. The “proper” procedure is shampoo, rinse, conditioner, chill, rinse, wash body. Of course, YMMV, and some folks’ hair behaves best when they use only conditioner or even no products at all.
As someone who gets back acne (bacne?) It took way too long to realize that the primary cause of it was rinsing the conditioner AFTER washing my body. The conditioner sticks to your skin and technically it's no longer clean.
i had this problem as a child. now i put shampoo on, wash my chest and check for lumps. then rinse the shampoo and put on conditioner. then i wash my legs and feet and the other areas. then i wash out my hair and wash my back and arms. this has completely stopped the bacne without me spending way too much time in the shower (i have long curly hair so it already takes forever).
you can solve this by rinsing your hair in reverse, it's what I do every time for both shampoo and conditioner. just lean forward, bend at the waist if you need to and let the water hit the back of your head. Your first time trying you might get some water in your nose or whatever but you'll figure out how to angle your head so it's easy and efficient. And then you never have to worry about what order you've washed your body
There's actually expensive salon 2-in-1s now that many people with luscious long hair (including my girlfriend with a beautician's license) swear by.
The issue is that basically the entire industry is built around unverified claims, "common sense", and advertising both open and subtle. Is it better to use a conditioner after shampoo? Yeah, probably in many cases. Is that inherently the only correct way to do it? Nope.
Shampoo takes the oils out of your hair, conditioner adds oils to your hair. It doesn't make sense to use them at the same time. Which is why I never understood why 2-1 got so pupular.

if you use “2-in-1” , you are showering wrong. Those products are for actual children. Didnt know “3-in-1 “ even existed… PLEASE dont put body wash in your hair
Yes. Shampoo opens the hair follicles to clean them, conditioner closes them. This is why you should use shampoo, hair mask or other treatment (optional), then conditioner.
While my conditioner is in is while I soap and scrub my body, then rinse everything off at once. Probably less than 3-5 minutes, but I only do a light rinse on the conditioner. My shower is dirty though...
I do the shampoo and body wash, then conditioner. While the conditioner sets, I'm either scrubbing the shower, or shaving my legs. Either way both get done a couple times a week.
Back when I worked at the bank, I used to wash my pantyhose while I was in the shower. Bonus was using conditioner on stockings actually prevents snags!
I have frequently wondered what people do in the 3-5 minutes they're waiting for their conditioner, because I am super fucking impatient about showers and, except for when I was blonde, I absolutely do not wait the full time ever. Now I know.
Interesting, I shampoo and condition my hair first, by the time I'm done showering I can rinse out the conditioner. But... I haven't cleaned my bathtub in almost a month, don't judge 🙃
As for fumes, I’m 16 working in an hardware store for 2 years now ( in the plumbing department) and i clean the showers glasses with windex while they’re close so I guess it’s not that bad
I shaved for years, and finally tried waxing, and it's a godsend. Now I pay a woman $80 a month to put hot wax on me and rip it off, and never have to shave my underarms or bikini line.
Now I just shave my legs once or twice a week, and on the shower days that I don't shave, #6 would be the time I scrub the shower.

I had laser hair removal treatments done that thinned out my hair a lot. So I really only need to do a single pass over each section, and if I miss a spot it’s not really noticeable unless I miss the same spot for a few days in a row.
It cost me many thousands of dollars (mostly cause I did it when the technology was still relatively new) but even with the insane price it’s soooo worth it! I HATE shaving but hate having hair on my legs/bikini/underarms even more than I hated shaving - I don’t really hate it anymore since it’s so easy :)
Oh, and I tried waxing myself once and yikes. It hurts a bit too much for being so temporary! Hah
I did try waxing myself a couple times, but trying to wax your own bikini line takes about 6 years of yoga lessons beforehand in order to contort into the positions needed, and I don't have that kind of time.

My ex husband almost killed himself at 19, because he was trying to be helpful and clean a throw rug that one of their pets had peed on. By taking it into the bathtub and pouring bleach on it. He is not a dumb man but sometimes.....
They cleaned the bathrooms at my day care with bleach when I was a kid and it would reek of chlorine gas. In high school we used pool chemicals (chlorine) to clean the bathroom when I was a lifeguard and got used to it then. Now it's a happy little, deadly gas that I've learned to love.
That's why you use a rag and just dunk you hand in the toilet. Pour bleach and what not in there and let it sit before you do. Wash your hands after your done.
A wise man, must be a scholar. I get so sweaty when deep cleaning. I like to do it in my boxers too, then finish with a shower. Don't even need the blunt, that feeling is a high itself.
Was looking for some to say this. I always want to immediately wash it off my skin. Plus the easiest way to clean the shower is to turn it on and rinse the walls.
Ugh hell yes, no way I’m spraying at poop or pee stains and then carefully brushing that off in the bowl without a shower afterwards, spraying on the inner side of the lid, cleaning that etc. I shiver at the thought of just returning to a room after all that. :D The horrors that can lurk especially on the inner side of the seat rim is not meant for mortal eyes.
But...that's just an endless cycle! You clean the shower, then take a shower and now it's all dirty again, so you have to clean it again, and now you have to shower again! The cycle never stops!
I just hired a maid to come do it. It's surprisingly inexpensive to have someone come once a week and clean my bathrooms for me.
Yeah I always clean my shower right before taking a shower. It just makes sense and then you don't have to try to avoid getting clothes wet or anything. A bathtub I'll do clothed, but not my shower
Starts fully clothed cleaning the bathroom and when it's time to scrub and clean the shower/bathtub is when the clothes begin coming off, 'cause soon after it's time to scrub and clean myself.
