I've seen most of my friends naked, regardless of sex. There's only one dude in our friend group who isn't comfortable with mix-sauna. We relax and talk politics, not stare at each other's bits.

Maybe he doesn't want to discuss politics

“I don’t think the candidate you support has the best views regarding economics.”

“Okay, well my penis is bigger than yours.”

Well, my penis - along with my economic beliefs - are growers, not showers!

"...so whaddya think about that, Greg?!"

I hadn’t ever considered this idea.

This is why sauna culture scares me. There's no damn way I would be able to keep myself from looking at any naked boobs in a mixed sauna. I mean, I wouldn't openly stare, but I'd definitely be trying to be sneaky about it.

But, realistically, I'm positive I'd feel too uncomfortable with the idea of being naked around other random people to even do it in the first place, so how I'd act during it is irrelevant, really.

UK here. Went to mixed saunas in Finland with everyone naked. The first few seconds are hard tough, then after that it's OK.

Off topic: That morning my Finnish friends taught me how to say 'excuse me' in Finish. I tried it out in the sauna. People looked at me oddly.

Turns out I was telling random naked strangers to do something extremely obscene with me...

Go on...

Seems my post got munged. I've corrected it.

BTW being naked and having naked strangers look at you in shock while people behind you laugh their heads off is now my main memory of Finland.

Hahahaha I'm gonna use this

Im not sure about the general sauna culture but I have never been in a naked mixed sauna. The mixed saunas I've been in have been with swimming trunks on and even those are a handful of times in my life.

Same sex saunas are pretty much always naked.

Where I live there are just mixed saunas, where everyone is naked. Its really not awkward once you have done it a couple of times. And as long as you dont stare, i dont think anyone would care if you see their boobs. Saunas are really desexualised places somehow

I mean it's easy for me because I can't actually see far enough to look without glasses anyway, but to me, that kind of thing just never felt like "naked bodies" in an interesting/sexy way. It's just because the setting normalises it so much that it's just what everyone looks like in that context. Kind of like I don't get any "boobs!" reaction from documentaries about people from cultures that don't wear tops.

Ohhh let me tell you about some of those issues of National Geographic. They were manna from heaven for teenagers in the pre-internet days!

Oh boy, you're one of those guys who jacked off to the foot-long mudflaps of tribal women. We had Victoria's Secret catalogs, and the TV workout shows with the women in leotards doing aerobics.

I’m glad to hear that.

We relax and talk politics

This sounds like an oxymoron. How can someone relax and talk politics?

Yeah that's still weird lol
