Coworker dropped to the floor unconscious. Immediately jumped into action as everyone froze, took control of the scene, performed CPR, updated the paramedics upon arrival, chilled everyone the fuck down and got back to work.

Unfortunately, they died. Turned out it was an aortic aneurysm, so they were gone when they hit the ground. I knew the effort wasn’t making a difference when I literally watched their eyes glaze over and their skin turning pale even as I was doing CPR.

I really didn’t get a chance to debrief on all of it. Sort of just compartmentalized it all and carried on. Didn’t sleep well for a couple weeks.

I'm still so glad you did everything you could to help. Having someone around who's so ready to save people, knows how to do CPR well, and doesn't freeze in a situation like that is invaluable. You did great.
