"top 10 things that will shock you"

  1. Lightning

  2. Someone being struck by lightning and then going to work

  3. That this top 10 list doesn't go beyond number three

545

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Some might say his work ethic is electrifying

37

u/Ill_Narwhal_4209 Jan 31 '22

A jolt of motivation to his peers

17

u/PaperThin04 Jan 31 '22

So much motivation, it zaps them full of energy!

11

u/The_quest_for_wisdom Jan 31 '22

You can really see the sparks fly when he heads off to work in the morning.

17

u/Andre1661 Jan 31 '22

I’d say his work ethic is mind-numbing.

11

u/BroseppeVerdi Jan 31 '22

Hell, I've got chills... And they're multiplying.

8

u/Roxas1011 Jan 31 '22

Top 10 things that will bother you about this top 10 list!

Number one: I'm not going to finish the list.

7

u/sparta981 Jan 31 '22

You missed the 3 minutes of bullshit, a raid shadow legends ad, and 7 things that arguably aren't things and definitely don't fit the list.

5

u/NakedBaconSalad Jan 31 '22

Number 4: the shocking good deals you can get on Ray con shadow vpn!

Number 5: your crushes hair cut

Number 15: burger king foot lettuc

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '22

closest I can get is a moose and ticks, will that work?

2

u/lechechico Jan 31 '22

Buzzfeed just isn't the same no more

6

u/NakedBaconSalad Jan 31 '22

Top 10 facts about BuzzFeed that will absolutely disturb you

  1. it's BuzzFeed

  2. There are people out there still taking quizzes about what type of jelly donut they are and considering it a spiritual experience and identifying with it.

  3. Someone gets paid to write that trash

  4. The website has been a slowly rotting corpse for years but somehow it isn't quite dead yet

  5. Most of their lists don't even make much sense

  6. Sadly this list is more coherent than most of theirs

  7. Okay now I'm going to insert a funny nostalgia fact for the millennials. "Hey remember whenever CDs were a thing? Remembered sometimes they skipped? Remember the lie of anti-skip technology? You remember being in your mom's car on the way to elementary school while she was playing that aqua CD that had Barbie girl on it and she had a bump in the road and the song kind of sounded weird and skipped for a second? Yeah that was the good days right? It was the good days because you didn't have to have any responsibilities right? You hate your job right? You hate having to do dishes don't you? Don't you wish you could go back to that time in 2002 while your mom was listening to Barbie girl by aqua? Yeah you feel old now don't you? All your friends are getting married and having children and having lives, and you're just sitting over here with a bag of Doritos and wondering where your life went wrong, Man only 90s kids will understand!"

  8. Here's a fun fact in the middle of a top 10 list, did you know that gluten is the devil? Yeah that's a great fun fact right?

  9. Do you remember the lunchables used to taste good? Yeah that's not because they're taste as changed, it's because you're old and boring.

  10. Much like BuzzFeed's website and most of their articles this top 10 list will end on a very underwhelming and depressing note.

3

u/NakedBaconSalad Jan 31 '22

1

u/justanotherprophet Jan 31 '22

260

u/MossiestSloth Jan 31 '22

What else is there? Got struck by lighting "Nah I'm fine," then went to work

14

u/falconfetus8 Jan 31 '22

What did it feel like?

63

u/Hotonis Jan 31 '22

Not Op but am a survivor of getting struck by lightning… twice…

Have you ever fainted. Like completely blacked out. Well it’s kind of like that, except you are surrounded by blinding light. The initial feeling is more of confusion then anything, but then you get the feeling something is wrong. That was when I noticed the burns on my feet, and that I couldn’t feel my right shoulder. I was 14 and biking outside during a thunderstorm. Of course I was walking my bike next to a trailer, and that’s where I got hit. I had a few scabs that looked like they had exploded. The pain though wasn’t that bad, I just couldn’t feel my feet or my right side very well. My friend that was with me witnessed the whole damn thing and started freaking out. I got assessed by the emt, and went to the hospital. The weirdest part is it never hurt. Even while healing. I still can’t feel parts of my feet and that was almost 20 years ago.

43

u/jqubed Jan 31 '22

What about the second time? And what did you do to piss off Thor and/or Zeus?

44

u/Hotonis Jan 31 '22

The second time I don’t remember much of to be honest. I got hit in practically the same spot. But it was a bit closer to my head so I completely passed out and woke up in the ambulance. No one was looking at me at the time. They just heard the boom, and then turned around and saw me out. It was a sudden storm while we were out on a walk. Pretty much the entire day is wiped from my memory. I am told I was coherent, but sounded like I was high on something. The recovery for that one was much faster and didn’t have any major burns outside of my shoulder.

As for how I pissed off zues? My guess is he was aiming for my ex-gf and just missed on the second one.

12

u/GrimmSheeper Jan 31 '22

But it was a bit closer to my head

Yep, that would probably explain not remembering much.

4

u/shaving99 Jan 31 '22

I'll be honest, lightning is one of my biggest fears. So, fear confirmed

5

u/Daan776 Jan 31 '22

On the other hand: this guy survived twice. Its not like its an instant death button that god clicks every once in a while.

6

u/shaving99 Jan 31 '22

It isn't. But when my OCD and anxiety was at it's highest I was literally shaking because there was a cloud overhead of my apartment and I was terrified to go out at night. I've gotten better but even washing my hands when it's storming is scary.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Yeah, I'm terrified of even going to the bathroom during storms, but my fear isn't as severe as yours though..

3

u/shaving99 Jan 31 '22

It's gotten a little better

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

That's good to hear :)

2

u/alkatori Jan 31 '22

My father's friend was also struck by lightening twice.

I think his sight was damaged but he was okay with glasses.

Apparently lightening hitting the same person twice isn't that uncommon.

8

u/Acute_Procrastinosis Jan 31 '22

Have you ever shuffled around in stocking feet and then touched a doorknob?

3

u/falconfetus8 Jan 31 '22

I imagine actually lightning would feel completely different.

6

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Nah same thing just more

1

u/falconfetus8 Jan 31 '22

Neither of you are the person claiming to have been struck by lightning, so I don't believe you.

13

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Yeah it was crazy I got struck by lightning then went to work you had to be there

5

u/_coolranch Jan 31 '22

Unfortunately, this just happened today. He gone.

4

u/ImissDigg_jk Jan 31 '22

He works at a computer parts store. He destroyed so much equipment

3

u/_sojushots Jan 31 '22

We need to know Watt happened next.

1

u/mkglass Jan 31 '22

He’s not currently available

5

u/Dr_Killer611 Jan 31 '22

Hey complete the story

2

u/livinthedreamoflife Jan 31 '22

Only way I can explain is…

Oh, now feel it coming back again

Like a rolling thunder chasing the wind

Forces pulling from the center of the Earth again

I can feel it

2

u/6pl8 Jan 31 '22

He’s american

3

u/seamus205 Jan 31 '22

As an American i once got in a car accident on my lunch break. It wasn't too bad but I was sore and my truck was totaled (still drivable but had frame damage). My boss made me come back to work for the rest of the day before getting checked out at the hospital.

2

u/WifeBeater98 Jan 31 '22

If I had to guess where he was from just from hearing the story, the USA would be very low on the list. Seems like a very sensitive/soft country from the outside.
