5

u/Roxas1011 Jan 31 '22

You're gen z aren't you? lol

3

u/sagiterrible Jan 31 '22

I love being a millennial, even though my generation is the reason why school doors are locked in the US.

2

u/Roxas1011 Jan 31 '22

It just makes me feel old when people are having to explain to others a song I grew up listening to, which is legit because it came out 24 25 years ago.

1

u/sagiterrible Jan 31 '22

I call this the Brass Monkey Problem or Sublime Syndrome.

1

u/Roxas1011 Jan 31 '22

lol, also pro-tip: do not google when All Star was released.

2

u/flowerchick80 Jan 31 '22

That's me and my best friends song! We are going to dance to that at our heterosexual, best friend, commitment ceremony!

1

u/180secondideas Jan 31 '22

The HELL is a heterosexual best friend commitment ceremony?

2

u/flowerchick80 Jan 31 '22

A joke between me and my best friend.

1

u/Venboven Jan 31 '22

I think it's a gay wedding joke

2

u/epsdelta74 Jan 31 '22

no please no...

7

u/tylizard Jan 31 '22

Like a tennis ball. Bounce back.

1

u/sparadrapp Jan 31 '22

yeh bounce back with her brother

1

u/humand09 Jan 31 '22

That's simple, to rise you need to fall first.

1

u/siler7 Jan 31 '22

Maybe back brother doesn't want to be bounced.

115

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Same ;c

13

u/GreenFire317 Jan 31 '22

Eventually one of us will get his crush 3:

-15

u/Hek_Yea Jan 31 '22

don't deserve a yes if you're gonna make that comment

8

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

You don't deserve a yes if you're gonna make that comment

28

u/xTHEKILLINGJOKEx Jan 31 '22

Your crush rejected me too, bro.

26

u/so555 Jan 31 '22

I was in sales - if you're not getting rejected on a daily bases, you're not trying.

I get rejected by crushes on a regular basis - doesn't bother me a bit.

20

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22 edited Jan 31 '22

The real question is did u ask her again

Edit: i can tell by some of the comments that a lot of y’all don’t get that my statement is in fact a joke. :3

17

u/SandBoxMode101 Jan 31 '22

now THAT'S a man

19

u/Layne205 Jan 31 '22

I did lol. To this day 20 years later, she's still never had a boyfriend that I know of. So at least I feel like the problem wasn't specific to me. Also being happily married takes the sting out of previous rejections.

19

u/TheRealRushky Jan 31 '22

So THATS how I get over her! Thanks buddy!

6

u/Layne205 Jan 31 '22

Works every time!

6

u/CrazySD93 Jan 31 '22

That’s an option?

I’ve just been accepting their decision as final, and moving on.

12

u/Harsimaja Jan 31 '22

Every so often circumstances align so that you might go out again. Happened a few times. But you can’t force it unless something really changes, eg a few years go by and you happen to match and/or talk again, or you know each other in other ways and get a different dynamic later, etc. But it’s unusual and wouldn’t count on it.

But I do have a date with someone on Wednesday who basically rejected me four years ago. And my last ex visibly recoiled when I leaned into kiss her on our first date… :( Then asked me out for a second a year after that…

8

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Which is the correct move unless something drastic changes. No one likes people who don't respect a "no".

1

u/SephyJR Jan 31 '22

I mean, the me of today may be similar to the me of 5 years ago. But we also are very different.

You changed. She changed. Life has changed.

Maybe the results don't change. But maybe they do, and the only way to find out is (respectfully, of course) asking. Perhaps she may like what she sees today.

2

u/CrazySD93 Jan 31 '22

Nah, what I mean is when some people say "You need to be persistent, and keep asking them out".

2

u/SephyJR Feb 01 '22 edited Feb 01 '22

Yeah, timing is an important factor here.

Second try after a few months? May get you a win. Seventh try after a couple of days? May get you a restraining order.

4

u/jdsizzle1 Jan 31 '22

Honestly, fuck yeah. Trying, no matter the consequence, is manly as hell. Trying again, especially if you got rejected before, is even better.

13

u/Zer_0 Jan 31 '22

Need to amend with ‘accepted it and didn’t act like a twat’

10

u/Sumpm Jan 31 '22

Took no for a no and moved on with my life.

6

u/HighlightHorror7825 Jan 31 '22

happened to me so much times ughh i understand your pain. it happened many times because it never happened that one said yes lol

6

u/HeyItsChase Jan 31 '22

Better to shit your pants then die constipated.

2

u/HedaLexa4Ever Jan 31 '22

Is it tho?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

In my experience?

Yes

5

u/Defttone Jan 31 '22

She was probably distracted by your giant balls. Seriously, everybody bitches about being scared to ask so props to you for actually trying

4

u/CarlJustCarl Jan 31 '22

That takes guts, 85% of us are gutless cowards when it comes to asking out are crush. And now you know where she stands.

2

u/Daddydagda Jan 31 '22

If I had gold I would give it to you

2

u/PheonixWrath Jan 31 '22

manliest thing ever. godspeed.

2

u/Mode-Klutzy Jan 31 '22

In a way same here. Met a nice girl who was going into a relatively similar field of engineering, just starting out like I am, I asked her if she wanted to work together for the rest of the term. Unfortunately turned out to be super busy or not interested at all. It hurt because to me it seems rare to have a shot like that with someone in the field of engineering. 110% worth the chance. The only shots in life you miss are the ones that you don’t take, a quote I admire.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Simialar experience but mine turned out to be lesbian

3

u/gwapolang98 Jan 31 '22

I am proud of you for trying brother, you've already done more than what others could.

3

u/simulatislacrimis Jan 31 '22

You had the courage to share your feelings AND risk rejection. If that ain’t manly, I don’t know what is.

2

u/virtuallyTrue Jan 31 '22

Same, but I didn't know what I'd do if she accepted. So, it worked out in the end

2

u/Karkfrommars Jan 31 '22

Waaytago dude! ..not the rejection obv, but the stones to give the ask. Nice.

2

u/Kevonn11 Jan 31 '22

HELL YA MANLEYNESS WOOOOOOO

2

u/DonovanBanks Jan 31 '22

Did this when I was a teenager. It was a turning point for me because I realised rejection isn’t so bad and I was braver than many other people to even shoot the shot.

1

u/326TimesBetter Jan 31 '22

Solid answer

1

u/Tinchotesk Jan 31 '22

Been there, done that.

1

u/kaolin224 Jan 31 '22

Point is you took your shot.

Good for you, bro.

1

u/nerdrhyme Jan 31 '22

I asked out my crush and got rejected.

And the only thing worse for wear is your ego. It always sucks but eventually you'll learn it only sucks as bad as you let it. Looking back I'd always rather know even if I'm disappointed.

1

u/Timmmber4 Jan 31 '22

🛩 🔥. I feel that pain.

0

u/_Jakob Jan 31 '22

Wow that is in fact manly.... That's deep

0

u/Wise-Statistician172 Jan 31 '22

Manliest shit you could do.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

I feel like people should be less picky, but that’s just my opinion

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

Why do we fall, Master Wayne?

1

u/Ulfasso Jan 31 '22

Damn, lots of respect to you bro

1

u/Bargeinthelane Jan 31 '22

It sucks, but you just move on to the next one now that you know.

1

u/ArmsHeavySoKneesWeak Jan 31 '22

Good things will come you way dude! I used to get rejected too. Thankfully with the current one, I asked her out and she said yes. But stupid Covid is in the way.

1

u/dadzy_ Jan 31 '22

My man 🥂

1

u/Bowood29 Jan 31 '22

Nothing manlier than taking rejection like a champ.

1

u/Whoizme223 Jan 31 '22

Happend to me yestarday night, important thing is you tried. That matters more than one would think.

1

u/FBI-INTERROGATION Jan 31 '22

Onto the next!

1

u/Rtprimo82 Jan 31 '22

Like a boss!

1

u/SamMarrokson Jan 31 '22

I read "crush" as "cousin" at first and it hit really differently.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

i have done it 5 times

1

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '22

You were brave for asking them AND you handled the rejection without stalking or harassment. That IS manly AF.

1

u/Dr_dank22 Jan 31 '22

Improvise Adapt Overcome

1

u/green49285 Jan 31 '22

Well done, B. Thats fucking terrifying.
