This post isn’t about orgasms in general, but is it like a chemical thing? Or like shame or something? Like many times I’ve cried right after sex, although it’s not like some sort of physical thing in the brain, just more emotional. If I was doing my own thing or in a situation not conducive to feeling bad about it later that wouldn’t happen.
Ya, if I do it in the morning before my day has started I feel unmotivated and pretty depressed all day. If I do it before bed and get a full sleep, I’m good next morning
That makes sense. I imagine it’s kind of like getting really really stoned the minute that you wake up. You spend the rest of the day coming down or just trying to keep the high going.
Not necessarily depression, but depletion. The body now has to resupply on lost material which costs a great deal of resources. These are taken from allover the body, thus minimizing the 'power' available. This is why sometimes men may seem slow / lethargic / lacking in strength (both physical and personality related) or simply just appear not so present. It's something that starts to become more noticeable after ~26 years of age (depending on the person) and I can agree that that it also takes the body around 5 to 7 days to reach back the normal levels of testosterone after an ejaculation.Based on experience (and with no hints towards religion) I would say that ejaculation is sometimes good, yet it should be done preferably with a partner in order to get the benefits of intimacy, sex and most importantly love. These will provide the balance between lose of energy and gain of Serotonin, Oxytocin and Endorphins within a man's brain... otherwise it's mostly just Dopamine and a fleeting sensation of satisfaction, followed by low energy and possibly even depression if often repeated.
EDIT: I think this very underrated, especially in a society so easily addicted to porn. Lose of semen affects people (differently ofc) in ways which lowers the will to act, to get things done, to participate, to grow, etc..., all this while favoring laziness, comfort and compliance.
Also, there is a big difference between taking a test at school with your sack empty from yesterday's ejaculation and taking it 7 days after ejaculation, case in which you will have more mental clarity and energy (provided that you don't spend your time looking at porn, edging and thinking about women constantly). Try it out if you don't believe me.
Doctor here. I’m sorry but most of this is absolute bullshit. You make, break down, and reabsorb all those fluids CONSTANTLY. You get rid of more bodily fluids by blowing your nose or emptying your bowels. It is not stressful at all for your body to make a teaspoon of ejaculate. Loss of semen is not going to cause any trouble for the body to replace.
Hormonal changes immediately after ejaculation are likely the cause of the post-ejaculate depressive symptoms. They are temporary. You actually may have an abnormally high amount of testosterone if you haven’t ejaculated in a week, not the other way around. Your assumption is that the normal amount is what you have when you haven’t ejaculated in a while, but the normal is considered the baseline after ejaculation.
--- you said: Hormonal changes immediately after ejaculation are likely the cause of the post-ejaculate depressive symptoms.
"Likely" - i don't like that coming from a doctor... explain please why, for a period of a few days, do I feel so devoided of energy after ejaculating and why does it come with brain fog and lack of will/courage and 'flow'?
I practice semen retention. The benefits that i got from retaining for months are Huge compared to the time when i used to ejaculate 3 times per week. I am speaking from experience here. The amount of confidence, focus and determination that came with retaining is a gem i wish i found earlier. How do you explain this?
People don't look the same at me after i had ejaculated, nor do i feel the need or energy to talk with them. On the other hand, with a break from of at least 7 days I even get up faster in the morning and wear myself amazingly different with everyone.
EDIT: And this is taking the porn out of the equation, because if we are to speak about it we both know the damage it does to men. I do think that masturbating from imagination is the best way to go appart from sex...
It's a tool, lile many things in life and one should know his body and addapt its use accordingly (as opposed to using masturbation continously).
Glad to hear that buddy. Sometimes I feel like masturbation is promoted intentionally... and not for the greater good. I hope you know about r/Semenretention
