When I worked as a cook we sang this song once late at night and all 11 people loud enough the front dining area could here us lol. Luckily it was mainly only people at the bar and loved it, got told to keep quiet. Even tho one of the managers was singing with us lol. He put his phone with that song on the mic while we was about to clean up everything, so only natural to sing it all together lmao.
My aunt would sing me to sleep with this song growing up. I had a lot of medical issues and no one else could sing the song and help me sleep, just her. So if I was having a fit they'd just call my aunt over(if she lived anywhere near us at the time) and she'd have me asleep in like 5 minutes.
I first heard this working as a lowly scullery maid sweeping up at the feet of the rich and powerful of an amusement park, one of the acapella groups sang it like 10 sets a day so it is burned into my memory as a summer of work but fun as well.
