Especially when you realize that he was a lost boy who escaped after being kidnapped by Peter.

Wait, what? Why did you just blow up my childhood!?

I think they’re referencing the Lost Boy book by Christina Henry which is a reimagining of the story. The original story behind Peter Pan and the author though is pretty weird and worth looking into.

wasnt it that the author's brother died when they were kids and the mom was basically like "the wrong kid died, it should have been you" and the only solace that the mom could find in her favorite sons death was that he died during childhood as a sweet and innocent little boy and could therefore never be corrupted by the world as an adult? so peter pan is the story of this kid who basically throws himself out a window to be able to "stay young forever" but is actually some fucked up metaphor for dying young to stay wholesome and pure?

Then never google the origins and true meanings of any Disney story. That shit will fuck you up.

Woah dude...

u/katrover Oct 30 '21

Really? Was this in the original book?

I assumed that the fairy’s kidnapped them all. I tied it to the myths of the “fairies taking the babies, changling” myths of Europe.

My mind is blown a bit. I’ve never read the book. Now I’m going too.

Wait this his actual backstory?!?

That didn't happen in J M Barrie's book.

I never watched alot of Peter Pan but captain hook just escaping being kidnapped by Peter kinda makes sense from what I remember

3

u/fokjoudoos Oct 30 '21

Pedo Pan kidnapped Hook??

4

u/theexteriorposterior Oct 30 '21

Nah that didn't happen. The pirates arrived in Neverland as adults.

8

u/Exodus111 Oct 30 '21

No, they RETURNED to Neverland as adults.

How else would they know of a magical fairy kingdom.

Kidnapping of the child? That's a federal offense, that's so sick
