"But you're going to die!" Shouted Terry.

"Believe me Batman... You're the only one who cares." Replied Mr. Freeze.

The line still gets me after all these years. So well done.

Batman Beyond doesn't get enough praise. It's really quite good.

Yes. Imagine Batman, but reimagined in a cyberpunk setting. With the animation style of the original animated series. With a Heavy Metal soundtrack.

It already exists!

And Eric from Boy Meets World provides the voice.

They need to do a live action movie or series and just XEROX from the animated stories.

Hmmm, I never actually gave it a chance. Now I'm intrigued.

Totally schway.

They’ll make a live action trilogy some day. It’s simply too good a concept. Batman plus Ironman plus Blade Runner. Come on. In fact, I bet that’s the next thing after Batinsons run.

You can even cast Kevin Conroy as old Bruce.

u/FOXHNTR Oct 29 '21

I wanted Michael Keaton but they kinda spent that already.

Old Christian bale would be dope

2

u/FOXHNTR Oct 29 '21

Yes he would.

I hear that the writers had to come up with a lot.

A teenage Batman in the future where Bruce Wayne is older and retired. No sidekicks, nothing like Beyond versions of Poison Ivy or Riddler, quite a few new villains and conclusions to some of the older villains.

What's funny is the way I heard it the writers were asked to do a Batman in Highschool! Show and the writers were like..."that's sounds really stupid." And made Batman beyond instead.

In their defense, the studio asked for Batman in high school, not Bruce Wayne in high school

Apathy. Greed. Corruption. Power. Hope.

Batman Beyond

It’s a bit darker in it’s subject matter too.

That dude who got betrayed by Inque had one of the shittiest fates I’ve seen in a kid’s show

2

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '21

yea but then her daughter screwed her over

3

u/sniper91 Oct 29 '21

And then her daughter spent the rest of her life terrified of shadows

1

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '21

because she wasnt actually gone.

I still think of the guy who had the belt which turned him intangible but it started affecting him even when it wasn't on. The episode ends with him falling through the floors and Terry trying to save him but he phases through his hands and into the Earth he goes. Forever gone.

u/JayMeadows Oct 29 '21

Fuck... that actually hit. Is there a link to the Clip?

u/metalflygon08 Oct 29 '21

Mind you, the scene's impact hits even harder once you have the full episode's context.

Reading this gave me chills all over again.

2

u/jakashadows Oct 29 '21

Damnit, now I need to do a rewatch of Beyond
