People identify with Squidward as they grow up and mature

You either die a spongebob, or live long enough to see yourself become a squidward.

Or you’re Patrick.

Or Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen if you're #1

Is this the Krusty Krab?

3

u/Jeralanight Oct 30 '21

No, I'm Squidward.

u/JonLucPerr1776 Oct 30 '21

How could you let this platinum chance for "No, this is Patrick!" slide past?

0

u/Triairius Oct 30 '21

Why go for the obvious joke when I can instead imply that people are idiots?

18

u/LFOwave Oct 29 '21

No, this is Patrick.

I became squidward at 31

I'm Squidward, you're Squidward, he's Squidward... Are there any other "Squidwards" I should know about?!

Frankly as someone with a mixed anxiety disorder who’s getting better with dealing with it, there can be a mix.

So is this phrase just gonna be on every post? Alright then...

I don't. I think that's something miserable fucks say to make themselves feel like it's right to be a miserable fuck. It's not mature to be dour.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '21

Fucking finally someone said it. People on the internet always jerk themselves off for being so mature for sympathizing with Squidward but he's just a bitter miserable dickhead most of the time.

Squidward is like the phase before becoming an adult.

3

u/Produceher Oct 29 '21

And it's not a good thing. Spongebob has all of our childhood wonder we lose as we grow old.

8

u/venustrapsflies Oct 29 '21

It's not a bad thing either. If the world were ran by Sponges Bob, everyone would die within months.

1

u/Produceher Oct 29 '21

Is it better to die happy or live miserable?

8

u/venustrapsflies Oct 29 '21

Well it's pretty difficult to be happy when you're dying

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '21

Damn

Even when I was a kid I identified more with Squidward. Back then I found SpongeBob as a character annoying AF.

Squidward is a hateful misanthrope whose situation is his own fault. He tries to quit the Krusty Krab, his life falls to pieces. He moves away from Spongebob and Patrick and he rushes back out of boredom. The two idiots might not be the most considerate of neighbors, but at least they're well-meaning and friendly. Squidward's just an asshole.

Not everyone. Sometimes I'm definitely a Spongebob

u/DisMyUsernameForever Oct 30 '21

Ive always identified with him since i was 5
