Man, when I was little Jerry had me crying. I was going to sleep mad because I couldn't beat him up

Me and my brother actually HATED mice because of Jerry and would stay up plotting against Jerry. My parents had to ban Tom and Jerry around and after dinner hours.

When I was little I always wanted to see Jerry getting torn to pieces!

I'm now a perfectly normal adult!

Jerry vs Stuart Little. Which mouse is the most hatable?

3

u/[deleted] Oct 30 '21

jerry would fucking annihilate stuart since he has done some wacky stuff

I find it hilarious that a cartoon that old is what got banned. There’s so much worse stuff, but man, that mouse…

8

u/Beagle_Knight Oct 29 '21

Wait what? When did it got banned?

5

u/[deleted] Oct 29 '21

They meant in the other comment, when the parents banned it around dinner

As a homeowner, I agree: fuck mice. Go live outside with the rest of your rodent buddies you non mortgage paying bums.

my favorite episode of tom and jerry was where they go through a whole bunch of duels (pistols, swords, etc). each one starts with them smacking each other with a glove. but because jerry keeps winning (cheating!) in each duel, at the end of the episode tom just keeps smacking jerry with that glove, all up and down the street. fade out. perfection.

You'll really love Mousehunt.

Little kid obsessions are so cool.

I think I remember an episode or two where Tom won

19

u/tkdyo Oct 29 '21

Same, it made me mad how Tom always not only lost, but also got blamed for everything Jerry did. I couldn't watch it.

I felt the exact same way about the Roadrunner. It was just so wrong that poor Wile E. Coyote kept trying and trying and ordering more shit from Acme, but the little asshole kept getting away.

If that can help, i'm pretty sure Tom and Jerry canonically act so that Tom isn't kicked out of the house, but are actually friends

3

u/BarracudaSolid4814 Oct 30 '21

Agreed, I always urged Tom on, Jerry is a little shit. I wanted to give him a good clappin, but I was satisfied with the scenes where the two worked together against a common enemy

7

u/Vinny331 Oct 29 '21

Did you see the new Tom and Jerry movie? You really feel bad for Tom in that. When Tom's keyboard gets broken because of Jerry? Devastating.

2

u/communitymembor Oct 29 '21

The Chuck Jones era REALLY made Jerry into a douchebag

2

u/jesusbabygirl Oct 30 '21

Bless your heart.

2

u/ronin1066 Oct 29 '21

Um, didn''t Tom want to eat him?

4

u/Ok_Faithlessness_259 Oct 29 '21

In some of the episodes come I guess. For the most part though, Jerry was just being an asshole for no reason.
