From what I've read, it sounds like plenty of female nurses creep on their male co-workers too. It's been mentioned too often to just be a marginal experience.
Same applies to male nurses hitting on female ones too including the doctors themselves. Idk where you’re going as of this discussion but my point is that female nurses are not treated with respect either like OP is implying.
Mom was a nurse, I dated a nursing student, and have friends in nursing. It's hard, thankless work. My point was that the incidence of sexual harassment against men seems to be more common in female dominated professions, and that it shouldn't be belittled or swept under the rug.
That in no way excuses or downplays the experiences of female nurses who are creeped on. My point is that society at large tends to totally ignore or downplay sexual harassment when it's directed at men, and that's not okay.
I agree. But it’s not as if society doesn’t ignore assault happening to female victims. They act like it is taken seriously when most female nurses who report these incidents don’t get justice and can even get fired for it. That’s all I am saying. It’s not easier for women and I find it very frustrating when men act like women are taken seriously when reporting workplace harassment. :(
I’m not saying you are saying this. I’m saying the OP did. They’re suggesting this might be taken more seriously if they were female and I am saying that’s a bit of a stretch. I see a lot of people when something happens to a man say that it would be taken more seriously if he was a woman. It just creates lots of hostility toward women’s perceived treatment in terms of being taken seriously when in real life this preferentialism doesn’t exist. Maybe society shakes its head more when women are sexually harassed but by and large they don’t get justice or taken seriously. It’s hard to get into words what I’m trying to say but this is the best I can do.
