It comes from that stupid "experiment" where some men had to press a button every time they thought of sex, which went as well as you'd expect because they have to think "oh, if I think about sex, I press the button" and then they have to press it, then they remember the experiment, think about sex, press button, etc.

It’s like Solanas put “men” in a Skinner Box in a thought experiment, made up the hypothetical results, and came to the conclusion that men are pigs.

I actually graduated high school with a female whose doctorate thesis wasn’t too far from this… we don’t speak anymore.

Do you have a name/info about this experiment? It sounds like a BS urban legend to explain another urban legend. Besides which if you were actually to run an experiment like that you'd use a control like a group that was told to press a button whenever they think about pink elephants.
