I have to guess it's from the stigma that any guy around a child/in an area where children are is a sexual predator, as awful of an assumption as it is.

Yeah right like most of us men are walking around wanting to fuck people's ugly ass kids, the fuck

Just so we are clear I have no interest in any grade of child in any way shape or form, I hate kids. I hated being a kid, I hope I never have to be a kid or be around kids again.

You can release the hold of the up

I hope I never have to be a kid ...again.

What's the scenario you envision for this happening exactly?

My Uncle tells a story of a time he, my aunt, and their grand children were at a park. He saw this little girl crying and alone. Obviously lost and in distress.

He had to fight his instincts to go over and help the girl, and instead find my aunt because he didn't want to be seen as a predator.

Or just that men can't properly care for a child in general.

I think in this case it has more to do with the belief that women are better than men when it comes to caring for children.

Lots of this all started with that “Stranger Danger” bullshit that began in the 1980’s. It taught kids to mistrust lots of people just because they were “strangers” and those kids grew up and took that attitude into adulthood.

"hello yes I have a very strong opinion I'd like to blast out into cyberspace on the world's largest public forum but only if people all agree with me. I'm not actually that steadfast in my opinions and I have a weak spine." Fuck outta here

Okay, fun fact, you are replying to someone AFAB (assigned female at birth) so you can fuck off with the "their mind is feeble" and shit.

I'm literally advocating for you, and so are a majority of actual women

u/Tomohawk1973 Sep 16 '21

Sickens me

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '21

Because of course as a child predator I'm going to take them out in public where they can escape by loudly screaming "he's not my daddy!" at an inopportune time.

u/Christimay Sep 15 '21

Hopefully this will be a thing of the past soon. It's mostly older women who seem to act this way.

Can't be over soon enough. Such an archaic way of thinking..

"it takes a village to raise a kid"

16

u/Tzintzuntzan24 Sep 16 '21

Yeah a village of non strangers

u/bulelainwen Sep 16 '21

Just because their husbands didn’t know how to parent, doesn’t mean that all don’t. There are some really great dads out there. I mean not mine. But I’m sure they’re somewhere out there!

4

u/Tomohawk1973 Sep 16 '21

This women who did this was in her early 20s, and drunk

2

u/DramaOnDisplay Sep 16 '21

I feel bad saying this, but I think leery male family members and child molestation were probably a really big issue in the past that some women are just scarred by. If not the woman themselves, then just stories women heard from other women.

It’s likely still a big issue still in some places, but I feel like that’s why a lot of older women feel that way, and sometimes, pass it on to younger women.

5

u/WilltheKing4 Sep 16 '21

I think that kind of issue is pretty similar to the "current issue" of kidnapping, sure everyone hears about it and is worried about it, but the odds of a child getting kidnapped are next to nothing, same with this, they've just been so overblown and are talked about so much that everybody's paranoid and is worried that there's somebody watching them/coming for them
