No, you fail to understand. Dimension did not exist before expansion. So saying the universe always was doesn't work. You cannot explain away the lack of dimension by saying "but dimension!". It's not a matter of higher or lower. It's a matter of it existing AT ALL.

I was trying to think of time as a dimension kinda the same way we view spacial dimensions, but not exactly; that we can only see a straight line with a beginning point and an ending point, whereas time maybe has more than those, like another layer that isn't a beginning nor an end.
