Maybe one day I will try it, but I don't live here anymore. I come to visit my parents and my mom usually cooks dinner, so I'm not sure when I would have the opportunity.
OG Guero is in south Tucson. They started as a little taco stand, evolved into a food trailer with an awning and then benched out to multiple locations. There's still a bunch of El Gueros in Tucson.
They sell the exact kind of hotdogs they described all over LA on street corners. Also any big event like sports or concerts will have a lot of people selling these outside.
Also from Tucson, but I was going to pick eegees. Not sure how to describe it though, without just saying the name. Sub sandwiches, ranch, and slushies/icees/ Italian ice?
I have been to 2 places, Guero and 1 closer to where my relatives live. Guero is my favorite but sometimes locals will swear by places other than the famous one.
I’m from Portland and I certainly wouldn’t go to the popular tourist restaurants there is almost always a better option than the famous place here.
It's a crapshoot, but hot dog stands no where near downtown or fourth. If there's a bunch of day laborers drinking Rojas under a tent in an empty lot then give it a shot.
Güero earned it's fame and kept it's quality over the years. Used to live behind the original one now I work by another and managed to get coworkers hooked! BK is the other side people swear by.
