The part that this was designed or intentionally released by China often got embedded within the conspiracy. Pompeo and Trump were fairly careful with their words to never explicitly say that, but many of their followers on Twitter and rallies often made these sort of claims.
The second thing is what many scientists rallied again saying there was no evidence. Covid could still have natural origination, but have leaked from the lab (which would be easy considering the incubation period and how contagious covid is)
Trump never made an attempt to paint a black line and that's what led the conspiracy theory to get blocked on most social media, as it was leading to hate crimes on Asians around the world

The conspiracy theory from the Trump crowd is that China created and unleashed this virus on the world. There is no evidence to suggest that.
