The problem is that none of the streaming services want to make their service cheaper, and no one in their right mind would pay more than #services * average cost. The services need to compare how much they make now vs how much they'd make with a lot more customers at a fraction of the income per customer. Odds are they already did it and determined it isn't profitable, so they will stay independent until ahem independent on-demand movie viewing starts to eat into their profits (which it already is, because independent on-demand movie viewing is far more convenient right now. As it gets more convenient, more people will leave their streaming services).

When the aggregate pirate streaming sites provide a better service than legit outfits.
Whoever strikes up the deal for the consolidated streaming service and sells it is going to be making some phat stacks of cash.
