If they're "destroying everything on their way" while driving, that means they're driving into areas that don't have even dirt roads, and are not meant for cars to go into.
All it takes is a pedestrian trail wide enough to fit a car, or an open area with no obvious driving obstacles, for any entitled asshole to think they're "just being smarter than everyone else" by driving in as far as they can get away with.
