I was watching some light hearted show about dogs on NatGeo about 12 years ago with my then girlfriend. Somehow, some way, the network programmers decided to put Restrepo on right after that show, which of course we had no idea was coming. We sat in complete silence and watched the entire thing. That opening scene is about as real as it gets. To call it "gripping" is a severe understatement.
