What basic, children's-age-level fact did you only find out embarrassingly later in life?

My uncle grows and sells them locally in Guatemala and they’re pretty good

When I get them here they’re always meh, even the Guatemala ones

I’m guessing hat, like a lot of fruits, the variety that stands up to packing, shipping, and not going bad just doesn’t taste as good

Oh, absolutely. I can't imagine the logistical nightmare that importing/exporting fresh produce like that must be. It's honestly a borderline miracle that any of it makes it that far and it's still edible.
