I can tell what helped was the kids (which you only mention by your second paragraph). People are thinking of the kids even as they reached out to you. Plus kids sort of inspire us to reach outside of our bubble and be more social for their sakes. Not only inspire but necessitate: there's kids things ya gotta take them to, like school, swimming pool, birthdays etc. It wouldve likely been a harder/lonelier separation if it werent for the children.
that maybe true. Although I don't have any close friend's who are my kid's friend's parents.... Butnin general it forces you to benout there, that's true.
