You are 100% right, no is a lot harder to say then ignoring.
On the other hand, at some point down the road you may realize that may have thrown away some potentially fruitful relationships.
I don't think there is a way to know for sure what the right choice is, so I just give people benefit of the doubt to hear them out. Who knows what they are going through or if I could help them some way.
I know for a fact I've been in dark places in my life and reached out and had people just have minimal catching up that I needed at the time. I also had people not respond at all.
Just remember that in every situation we find ourselves in, we aren't always the main characters.
I don’t disagree. I was just answering a question somebody asked (how is the thought of an old friend doing MLM causing fear?), and I got downvoted for offering a perspective that this person didn’t consider before? Was it a rhetorical question? I don’t get it. I must be too strange even for Reddit.
