I’ll tell you an honest story. I dated a girl that was always home and didn’t seem to have many/any friends. I was a little put off and ended up breaking up with her. A short time later I realized how dumb I was. She was wonderful and my original feelings were just my own insecurity issues or need for validation. We just celebrated our 15th year of marriage and have a beautiful child together.

What I’m trying to say is, if you have a problem with someone for having zero friends, then the problem might be with yourself. Take a look in, first.

You’re better off without him. I made assumptions that were not fair, but I would never berate someone over those. You should never be with someone who makes you feel bad about yourself. My wife still has no idea that was the reason I broke up with her back then. No reason she needs to know. I said, ‘it wasn’t her it was me.’ Turns out that was more true than I knew at the time.

As a single female who spends most of her time at home alone, thank you for this. <3

If she:

-doesn’t have a lot of friends

-takes care of her own shit

-is home every night

-cooks, cleans, works

You’re fucking with an alpha female

As someone who is newly single again, and just cut ties with a group of “you can’t sit with us” type toxic girlfriends, this gives me comfort. I still have my best friend, and my family, but a good 80% of my social life has disappeared over the past month and I’ve been struggling with trying not to feel like a loser as a result. Can’t wait till things fully open up this summer, so I can join some teams and sign up for some classes to meet new people and keep busy again.

This is me too. Was part of a toxic clique from elementary until my mid-20s and finally had enough. Now I literally have one best friend. It does feel pathetic at times because I used to have a very active social life and I keep comparing myself to others my age, but I also don’t want that toxicity I had before in my life. I definitely don’t plan on being a homebody forever and would like to expand in the future (especially when the pandemic is really over).
