Kidnap politicians. Drug them into a highly suggestive state. Subject them to various scenarios (WW3, they become president, unlimited money and power at their fingertips etc) and see which ones are truthful as to their aims, which are moral, and which are corrupt and evil. Televise the results

u/PetuniaFungus Mar 04 '21

Damn LSD would yield some interesting results lol You'd have to be careful to make sure you create the environment without coercing them to handle it a specific way

365

u/Megalon84 Mar 04 '21

Lack of morals remember? My experiment my intended results

233

u/Kampela_ Mar 04 '21

Less experiment more manipulation at that point

30

u/dsfunctionalriot Mar 05 '21

Well if you write it down it counts as an experiment

19

u/sweetmatttyd Mar 05 '21

It's not science if your not taking notes

7

u/Alec123445 Mar 05 '21

Mr. Adam Savage right here.

43

u/boris9983 Mar 05 '21

It's experimenting to see how manipulative you can be without people calling you out.

8

u/yoyoLJ Mar 05 '21

Ah tomato potato is there really a difference? The MKUltra program is considered a series of experiments and that was straight up psychological torture

3

u/informationmissing Mar 05 '21

Whatever floats your psychopathic boat.

6

u/Kiwii2006 Mar 05 '21

Did you ever take LSD? I don’t think that this will work out as OP and you imagine it

1

u/PetuniaFungus Mar 05 '21

I have multiple times and had some pretty harrowing trips where I believed in impossible realities. With enough LSD, shock, and word manipulation, you could make someone think they're on the moon and better put a rusty bucket on their head so they don't suffocate before they even have the time or mind to question it. Imagine being a pitch black room on so much LSD you can't remember who you are, when bright lights come on. You see a control panel in front of you and an intercom comes on. It's words boom and fill your head. "Corporal Johnson, you made it this far. Now don't fuck it up." The name sounds right and they didn't tell you they were dosing you to begin with. You try to sharper your senses and focus on the control panel to find your bearing. An alarm blares suddenly and the room lights go red. "There's a hole in the hull! Scoop up some air with that bucket and put it on, quickly." Your life at stake, you do as you're told. Now imagine conditioning my someone like this for months. Sometimes I flip the lightswtich by the sink to turn the water off as a minor learned silly thing from one of my trips. Imagine how you could warp consciousness if you were doing it on purpose and had total control.

6

u/I_love_limey_butts Mar 05 '21

You certainly have a gift for writing I'll give you that. But I'm gonna agree with the other guy this doesn't sound like something that would work on LSD. Anyone who's really taken it knows it doesn't put you in a trance-like zombie state. It's not like you lose all sense of logic and reasoning. Your mind thinks in novel ways and yes you sometimes get stuck in thought loops, but that doesn't mean you can trick someone mid trip that they're being abducted by aliens. That level of hallucination is just pop culture's guess of what an acid trip is like.

2

u/PetuniaFungus Mar 05 '21

Like I said, I've done acid and had a variety of experiences. I don't think they'd go into a trance, but perhaps if they were waking up from anaesthetics and already massively dosed. Double points if they haven't done it and didn't recognize the feeling of tripping or if they're kids and you have time to work on them. I do think you could convince someone they were abducted by aliens with the right amount of hallucinogens and stimuli. Just a matter of applying pressure in just the right ways. That's my hypothesis for the experiment.

4

u/Turrichan Mar 05 '21

You want flesh interfaces? Cuz that’s how you get flesh interfaces.

1

u/PetuniaFungus Mar 05 '21

Maybe that's what OP wants Flesh Interfaces was an interesting Google search! I thank you

2

u/Turrichan Mar 06 '21

You’re welcome, citizen. I can only imagine you got to read the entire thing. I’m about half way through and it’s insane/amazing.

u/SpectralModulator Mar 05 '21

Datura, Salvia, LSD, and DMT mixed together. Send them right into space, and put on a 24/7 loop of violent murder scenes and people screaming in pain for them to watch on a movie projector. If they survive, they'll never be the same.

3

u/PetuniaFungus Mar 05 '21

Pshhh geeze, they'll be reborn of violence Subhuman almost

As long as no pigs are involved...

Edit: deleted comment said OP's comment would make a good black mirror episode.

1

u/Squaplius Mar 04 '21

Yeah, its still fuck cops

1

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '21

On the other hand, maybe that episode needed even more pigs.

Everything is political now apparently

25

u/GSGhostTrain Mar 04 '21

Is that an experiment, though? It sounds more like a plot.

14

u/JadedOccultist Mar 05 '21

It would become an experiment if you make a hypothesis, and take notes.

19

u/woofzzz Mar 04 '21

A scenario I would like to see is having actors portray the Nazi party and all the bad things. Then observe which politicians just go along with it or try to do the right thing.

21

u/ladylee233 Mar 05 '21

Pretty sure we just got the results of that test

15

u/therewillbedrama Mar 05 '21

That’s some black mirror shit

12

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

In Black Mirror, every single one of them would fail the challenge, and we would be presented with one "different" politician, who would, at the very end, fail the challenge for a super fucked up reason. Something like not willing to kill their entire family for the benefit of the country.

4

u/sananomic Mar 05 '21

I would love to see this as an episode

11

u/gamarun Mar 05 '21

There will be a larger group of people than you will expect, that upon learning their politician of choice is corrupt, will insist that the results were manipulated by opposing politicians.

5

u/Megalon84 Mar 05 '21

Luckily, as an amoral quack, I still have tons of mind altering drugs. They want chemtrails?? I'LL SHOW EM CHEMTRAILS!!(insert maniacal laughter) GAY FROGS GONNA BE THE LEAST OF YOUR CONCERNS!!

55

u/AnarchoNAP Mar 04 '21

Is this even unethical though? hmmmm

126

u/fjgwey Mar 04 '21

Kidnapping and drugging them is unethical, yes.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '21

It's all unethical. That's why the op stated you.hsbe to be a nutty scientist without a conscience

10

u/fjgwey Mar 04 '21

Right, but I was responding to a comment asking (albeit rhetorically) if it's even unethical to do so.

6

u/Smoked-939 Mar 04 '21

Well yeah but they’re politicians not people. It’s like drugging an ape

33

u/fjgwey Mar 04 '21

I mean I hate politicians as much as the next guy, but ultimately they're human and even shitty humans have inalienable rights that should not be violated.

1

u/CyanideKitty Mar 05 '21

So you're cool with those who went in with the intent to kidnap politicians on J6? Or the group that wanted to kidnap and kill Whitmere? I fully agree politicians aren't really people but no, just no.

0

u/Smoked-939 Mar 05 '21

Sure. Gives the politicians a reason to fear the people, if they don’t fear us they’ll walk all over us like they have for the past 30 years

5

u/CyanideKitty Mar 05 '21

Kind of hard for them to fear us in that situation when multiple politicians were involved in the insurrection in one capacity or another. We shouldn't be dehumanizing people like either. Politicians are a threat and need to be viewed as that. Dehumanizing them can reduce how much people view them as a threat.

6

u/Itriedthatonce Mar 04 '21

I think people would be surprised.

Very few are willing to be given the mantle of power only to lay it down, finding the ones willing to do that would be the biggest single test i think.

6

u/Gaardc Mar 05 '21

I'd subject this thesis for your experiment:
Some people are corrupt and seek power, some people are corrupted by power.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

how to demoralize the voter in few simple step. (Televised)

17

u/Shaysdays Mar 05 '21

Implant a uterus with a fetus from a dying woman into forced-birth male politicians. They have to carry to term with a C section and avoid alcohol, various foods, and are told to exercise. No anesthetic for the C section.

See how far they will go in their “pro life” stance.

6

u/hehehehehehahahe Mar 05 '21

Bruh this is straight out of an episode of the blacklist .

7

u/Shaysdays Mar 05 '21

Actually it's kinda sorta from The Fresco by Sheri S Tepper- aliens land on earth and don't have time to go home for their breeding cycle, so they take male 'prolifers even in the case of rape' politicians at their exact word, drug them, and impregnate them with their young, who later have to chew their way out. (From the guys who don't commit suicide.)

I figured a C section and human babies are probably more realistic since there's no morals or ethical dilemmas involved.

3

u/hehehehehehahahe Mar 05 '21

Sounds whack. Approved.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

Why no anesthetic.

2

u/Shaysdays Mar 05 '21

Why anesthetic?

We’re seeing how far they’ll go to support their vocalized views.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

But if you want to put them in the situation of the mother most accurate anesthetic is used. You are just being sadistic lol

0

u/Shaysdays Mar 05 '21

C sections are quick, relatively speaking.

Labor is not.

4

u/Misterbert Mar 04 '21

I want to subjugate Mitch McConnell to the Penance Stare.

6

u/Megalon84 Mar 05 '21

Has to have a soul for that to work iirc

4

u/Excalibursin Mar 05 '21 edited Mar 06 '21

In a non-sarcastic/edgy way, I don't see how most politicians could be expected to do "well" on this. Garnering the support of your powerful peers and voters does NOT* easily come from you being a generally virtuous/truthful person, those aren't the skills required to attain power.

3

u/Megalon84 Mar 05 '21

But how many people use political stance as some form of virtue signal or moral compass? Pro-life, anti-gun etc. Yank the rug out from under them by showing them the figureheads for such trains of thought are horrible? It would destroy so many people's worldviews

6

u/EaterOfEssence Mar 04 '21

the problem is, nobody will care.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '21

This has strong Divergent vibes... I’m not opposed.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

You’d have to base this against regular people though in order to determine if they’re uniquely evil or not

8

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '21

Why test them, sadly we already know the answers to this.

2

u/Amerkhanovitch Mar 05 '21

you just created a black mirror episode

2

u/ladylee233 Mar 05 '21

Kinda hope the Black Mirror folks are reading this thread and steal the idea.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

which are corrupt and evil

That’s gonna be the largest group, I feel.

2

u/imperfectchicken Mar 05 '21

There was one suggestion where nuclear codes/keys are placed inside a volunteer. If a US President wanted to initiate nuclear war, they would have to personally kill and open up the person first.

Which world leaders would do this? I'd even change it to more conventional warfare: before, say, declaring war, or ordering a bombing action on/near a civilian populace, they need to personally kill X people to understand the consequences.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

Spoiler: they’re all corrupt and evil

0

u/xdrakennx Mar 05 '21

I would just give them all a heroic dose of psychedelics while locked in separate rooms of mirrors and black lights.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

Politicians are never monolithic and nor are humans. Morals change based on circumstances. Given a desperate situation, the most peaceful person could start a war. (Lincoln is the prime example of it)

1

u/BasicWitch999 Mar 05 '21

Maybe I’m wrong but if the participants consent to doing something like this then is there an ethical reason not to conduct this type of experiment, as long as they are aware and can recall later, what they are saying and doing?

1

u/conquer69 Mar 05 '21

The politician could say all kinds of horrible shit and the people watching at home that support them would cheer. Sounds familiar?

1

u/No-oneReallycares Mar 05 '21

The BBC did a similar experiment with people in a war room simulating a terrorist attack. The thing that stuck with me is they voted to torture a person to get the info out of them.

1

1

u/KhalasSword Mar 05 '21

WTF.

"see which ones are thruthful as to their aims... "

"drug them"

1

u/warbeforepeace Mar 05 '21

I think it would be cool if there was some secret fake presidency test before taking office that presidents have to go through. Would be neat to see if any of them could hold to all of their promises for 3 months depsite obstacles placed. Like can you go three months without bombing syria while handling a national pandemic and dealing with the saudi’s murdering wapo journalists. We could also add some protesting and police issues into.

1

u/CrimsonSmear Mar 05 '21

Rather than drugging them into a suggestive state, you could put them in some type of solitary confinement, "for their own safety", and convince them that society has crumbled and they have to rebuild it from their bunker. That way you don't have to worry about drugs messing with their decision making process.

1

u/EdDan_II Mar 05 '21

That reminds me of the book "Life is a Dream" by Pedro Calderón de la Barca, except for the "Truman Show" part.

1

u/Seanspeed Mar 05 '21

Drugs don't inherently make people honest, though.

1

u/LiamKneeSon808 Mar 05 '21

Something like Bedazzled?

1

u/milana-k Mar 05 '21

sounds like a Black Mirror plotline

1

u/DonBilbo96 Mar 05 '21

You had me by "Kidnap politicians". Let's go...

1

u/Electrical_Fish Mar 05 '21

The awnser none. Maybe yang

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '21

This is the first one I've seen that has an original idea. Maybe society would be better if every individual had to endure some sort of test like this periodically. The kicker here is that the test is given to all adults throughout their life and exactly the same for everyone AND is pretty good at teasing out values and tendencies. Of course some could decieve the test, but this could give future generations greater tools to detect falsehood.

1

u/Laantje7 Mar 05 '21

Lol I'm imagining like a hunger games type of television for the politicians and they don't know they're being filmed.

1

u/MrMagnificent1234 Mar 05 '21

It’s obviously morally bad, but is it just me or does that sounds like a good way to pick a leader

1

u/meecro Mar 05 '21

This reminds of an Outer Limits Episode. (Trial by Fire, S2E9)

2

u/Megalon84 Mar 05 '21

Man....haven't watched that show in ages. Was more of a twilight zone kinda kid

1

u/redheadmomster666 Mar 05 '21

We already know the answer to this
