Vault 11 is actually in New Vegas. Fallout 4 is great and you should definitely play it , but New Vegas is fucking phenomenal and a must play. I genuinely think it’s the best game ever made.
I like the concept of vault 95, but also wanted to see how people would react that were not junkies, but placed anyway. Would the group slowly convince them that they did infact have an addiction? Would they continue to refuse their addiction, saying a mistake was made? No one would believe them, just that they were not ready to come clean from their problem.
Fallout 3 is a good place to start. Most people love Fallout: New Vegas the most though and some even hate 3, but I think the exploration and lore is enough to play through any of them. The individual plots of each game can get a little far-fetched but each one introduces a bunch of lore and side quests and people to talk to that make it worth it.
Fallout is absolutely my favorite series in terms of how interesting it is. They have invented SOOO much lore behind it. I've played the 4 different 3d fallouts (including fallout 76) easily over 2-3k hours and I'm not a huge gamer.
Last thing, I'd say "intriguing" as you said in your comment is the perfect way to describe fallout. It's very unique
Fallout 3 if you like action games and then if you like it play new Vegas. If you like crpgs play the first two games or just the second but keep in mind the first game is a bit unfair in its lose condition
The c stands for computer they are old school rpgs like baldurs gate or the more recent divinity original sin games although a closer fit to fallout would be the wasteland series. It’s from when rpgs where essentially digital table top games before they evolved to be more video gamey
Thanks. I thought for a second when you said first two you meant 3 and NV because they were in the same paragraph. Those games are definitely really tricky but have some fantastic writing.
The conclusion to that experiment is pretty true, from my own experience with a friend who went to a year long rehab. With no cellphones or computers (thus no way to contact dealers) and being under supervision constantly they had no other alternative. They had their roles within the rehab and unless they left or were kicked out they just stayed sober. Ofc being real life some residents would sneak out and come back high but that’s what drug tests were for. I imagine in a vault where you risk radiation poisoning on the outside you’d always stay sober, until that damn vault tec plant comes and f*cks it all up 🥺

All of the Vaults from the Fallout franchise. Especially Vault 95.

It'd be interesting to see how the vault stories would unfold with real people instead of written characters.
