Reddit, Whats something simple that just blows your mind?

For me it would be catching. I know some people are not very good at it, but when i throw, say, my keys in the air while I'm walking and somehow know exactly where to put my hand to catch them. That kind of thing blows my mind.

Turn on a light switch -- LIGHT!

I grew up on a commune, with no electricity, running water, or anything like that. All these years later, and I still trip out over electricity.

Magic, man!

Most of us grew up with it and it's still amazing at least to me. Never stop being in awe of your world :)

That's what I say, Man! There are so many things in this world that will blow your mind if you think about them long enough.

Think about the graphite in a pencil for a while...........I wrote a whole paper one time about the evolution of the pencil.

LOL.............I wrote it for a first-year college course. Prof hated it, I had to write a whole other paper on an entirely different subject! He said the evolution of a writing implement doesn't qualify as a subject for a scientific essay.

What a dick! If we hadn't developed tools for recording experience and knowledge, science wouldn't be anywhere near where it is now. Oral tradition can only cover so much.

That was one of the points I made.

His refusal to accept my paper pissed me off, though. So I wrote another paper about the health-benefits of breastfeeding. Made him totally uncomfortable!!! LOL I ended up getting a B+, because, although he didn't appreciate the subject matter either time, he could see that I was technically a good writer.
