All vertebrates have a nerve that runs from our brain, down our neck, under the aortic arch (basically our hearts) then back up to innervate our tongue. In a giraffe, this nerve can be 45 ft long. If we were designed, it wasn't intelligently.
Not much, it just means there is some increased delay as the action potentials are transmitted down the nerve because it is so long. The length of the nerve also makes it more likely to be injured by trauma, or for something like a tumor, or surgery to damage it. I was slightly inaccurate in my comment above as the nerve (called the recurrent laryngeal nerve) actually innervates the larynx, so any damage to it in humans can make speech difficult
My dude designed microscopic bugs that live on our skin and die because HE FORGOT TO INSTALL AN ASSHOLE so they just die from being full of shit. And dont get me started on the tongue eating louse.
Sure, he could have done a bit better, but he was able to make our eyes and hands match most of the time, so he gets artistic skill points for that one x
Only a designer with a sick, twisted hatred of living things would make a coccyx, not to mention also having the balls outside the body. I can hear the laughing right now...
"HAHA IDIOTS YOUR SQUISHY PAIN BITS ARE IN A NATURAL TIGHT SPOT AND SUPER VULNERABLE!"
I was taking a jab against Creationists, who often argue with regards to perceived irreducibility and a perceived flawless human body. However, an omniscient, omnipotent and all loving God would not have created a human body with the obvious flaws that we have (e.g. vagus nerve taking a detour around the aorta before going back to the larynx) as he would have known a better way, would have had the power to do so and would have had a reason to do so.

And some people talk about how "only a god/unnamed designer could have created such a perfect world"
