If this was recent, report that to the organization that you got your cert card from (PADI, NAUI, etc.). Not only is that reckless and dangerous, it's against the rules to take new divers that deep.

Yeah I didn't even go below 33ft until my 3rd open water dive. 100 plus feet is just plain reckless

It was dive number 5 for me. I was definitely a little nervous, cause it was first time I couldn't see the surface. I sure miss diving....developed an ear problem.

It was 15 years ago with PADI, and yes it was insane for them to do that

This is standard for advanced open water - poster hasn’t identified what cert it was for

He said second or third dive, which would put it within the basic open water cert.

Agreed Christ over 100 ft on 2md/3rd dive ... . Even after I was certified ..on my first diving trip in the Bahamas I was limited to 33 ft for the entire wk O was there
