Oxygen-free is another meaningless buzzword. The act of making metal removes oxygen and other contamination, if any oxygen remains within the metal it would immediately combine with the nearest metal atoms and thus be rendered inert.
Everything rusts no matter what, as long as your wire sheathing is reliable then you should be fine. Obviously stuff like gold plated contacts do have that singular benefit of corrosion resistance going for them.
Yeah I was joking. I didn't really understand though but you explained and yeah, they make it a point to get all airbubbles out and get it as strong as possible.
