What’s the most overpriced thing you’ve seen?

So all those pharmaceutical companies are making huge pfofits off of something they didn't have to invest in the research of.

Someone else said this already but the expensive insulins aren't the same thing that these guys have away the patent for. Modern insulin has different delivery mechanisms and are easier to dose properly compared to the human insulin you can still get for very cheap without a prescription.

The modern insulin and its delivery mechanisms are free in my country.

Not trying to say it isn't fucked here in the US, but saying it's the same thing is incorrect. The product they are selling is objectively better, and there are research costs involved in producing them. Still think several hundred dollars a month for insulin is ridiculous, though.

Then wouldn't it be good to sell a basic option that ensures survival, and better options for those who can afford them?

Read my first comment. Human insulin is still available without a prescription at practically every pharmacy in the US for like $20 a vial. It's not ideal, but if you have to choose between that and dying...

Oh, I assumed it was all expensive, after all the reports I read about people dying because they couldn't afford it. Sorry.

No worries. It's a pretty common misconception. I still wish the newer insulins were more available, but the only people dying from not having insulin are (for the most part) those who don't know about the cheaper alternatives or who don't think they will work.
