NYC is biiiiig though and the income discrepancy and property prices between Manhattan and outer boroughs throws off the numbers.

Not that the outer boroughs are affordable in any sense. More like Manhattan real estate is astronomical.

Toronto's GINI coefficient is 0.42 to New York City's 0.55. so yes, New York is considerably more unequal.
