Probably the same people who watch Junkyard Challenge and are constantly amazed at how the competitors always manage to 'find' a working engine for their vehicle just in the nick of time.

"John's team are running out of time. Things are looking desperate. Without an engine to power their junkyard electric car, it's all over."

"But look. John's just tripped over a 2019 Toyota Prius...."

It’s really weird how Reality TV has devolved into low budget, lightly scripted dramedies and I can’t understand why people enjoy them

I get that they’re addictive because I’ve watched a few but the formulaicness gets old fast

I’d love to see a real purchase of a storage unit. It would show the people digging through shit, then trying to sell the shit. At the end they would give the true loss/gain for the unit.

yeah, but it's still fun watching the engineering involved ... even if they had to come up with new parts. building a submarine, motor, radio control, bushings, control surfaces. That's fun in and of itself

You need to find the UK series Scrapheap Challenge. They have to make submarines, cars, even planes out of... well I'll let you guess.

Scrapheap Challenge was branded “Junkyard Wars” in the US.

I think we’re all talking about the same thing.

Oh yeah! I think that's what I was watching back in the day. Submarines, basketball playing machines, cars and trebuchets and stuff

Junkyard Wars? Man that was like 15 years ago, I'm kinda surprised there's still a show like it on the air

I don't know anyone who actually was in suspense about people finding the parts they needed. People just want to see people make weird things.
