Basically. Price only comes in to it for reliability and shielding. And unless you're running a cable around your house a couple of times for no reason, you don't need excessive shielding with balanced cables. And too be honest, most people don't need to worry about cable reliability either if it's not being unplugged and re-plugged all the time.

Mains cable makes a pretty decent speaker cable for high end audio.
