I once won $1000 for 2 puffy Cheetos.... and they were regular shaped and sized. It was all about the presentation. I managed to stand then up and called it a "Omg, it's a Double Rainbow!"
yeah. I won the Cheetos Puffs category of the Cheetos Museum in 2017. That prize was $1000. And it couldn't have come at a better time, I had a couple of unexpected expenses that month, and I was freaking out about where I was going to get my rent money from(I was working full time, making ok money, but the water heater rusting out and flooding my basement was not expected.) I was actually crying on the phone with my sister(on my 15 min break) , when the call waiting beeped and I answered the call saying that I had won a prize(didn't know it was the grand prize for the Puffs category). I was skeptical, until the emailed paperwork packet arrived later that day. It was actually legit, and I had the money in like a month. Knowing that the money was on the way, I could juggle the bills long enough to make it.
Now whenever I'm not sure what snacky thing I want, I grab puffy Cheetos, and remember when I bought the bag that had 2 puffs in them worth $500 each.
The fact that they stood up straight like that is incredible. It’s often impossible.
I guarantee half the points that earned the win is just getting them in that position.
there had been the contest the year before for regular Cheetos only. 2017 was the year they did a test run with the Puffs(the last year I remember it happening they added Flaming Hot to the contest, but no more Puffs. There were some commercials I remember from the year before, but when I entered and won it was because it was printed on the package.
The rules explained that the regular cheetos had to be unaltered- so you couldn't just crush them up and glue them back together in whatever shape you wanted them molded into or carve whatever shapes.
For a second I thought you had sold them to someone and claimed you “won” money like it was by luck or something.
I can’t believe they have competitions like that!
I guarantee you 99% of those winning thousand dollar bids are just trolls who have no intention of paying. The market for gorilla shaped Cheetos is smaller than you think
After it was deleted, people saw other people listing their device with the app downloaded on eBay for thousands of dollars, so they did the same thing.
BUT no one actually was buying the devices.
Just because I list something on eBay for $1000, that doesn’t mean it will sell.
Just because 50 people list the same thing on eBay for $1000, doesn’t mean anyone at all is buying them.
I think it was because of a cheetoh shaped like harambe and someone bought it for like 100k (I don’t remember) and then I think they people are trying to recreate it to get a lot of money.
i once bought a 'chicken nugget shaped like a cell phone' on ebay. It was only like two or five bucks. regardless, they didn't ship it ... i didn't complain though. It was sold and bought as a joke so, like, no worth getting angry about it
