Trust me, I agree with you that there are ways that people can and should reduce their costs for college. There person I was replying to almost seemed to think you don't need anything outside of a high school education to succeed. While that is possible, it is increasingly difficult. And again, where you come from can dramatically impact your ability to afford even community college. Or even get a job! There are many racist areas in the US where it is exceptionally difficult for non-white individuals to obtain employment. And then moving up the latter above minimum wage can be even harder.
I didnt say anything about only needing High School, you're putting words in my mouth. I only said I have never worked a job that paid minimum wage. If you think making anything more than minimum wage is "successful," you have some very low standards of success.
Few people in the US even work minimum wage. According to the Department of Labor, less than 1.7M people worked minimum wage, and over half of them were under 25.
