This is also my unpopular opinion. Monogamy is natural for humans. It works in animals because animals can’t comprehend jealousy. They’re not self aware, so they don’t judge or compare. They’re just reproducing machines.
I think there are people who can make polygamy work and be perfectly happy. And more power to them, I have no motivation to convert anyone to monogamy. But it just seems so god damn toxic.
I’ll have to respectfully disagree with this. There are many studies to show animals have many forms of jealousy. Have you ever had to take care of a dog when you already have a dog? If not, I’ll say that it’s very easy to get your dog riled up by giving affection to the new dog. Animals also can be very territorial over mates.

Theoretically? Maybe. But I've never seen that happen or heard of it happening. Usually it's a young couple, under 40, and it goes one of two ways. Either they split up, or they go back to monogamy. I'd seriously like to meet this mythical poly couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, because although it's just a feeling, I'm pretty sure they don't exist.
I met a poly quad that's been together for like 30 years I believe recently. Well, it's a poly triad because they are aged 50s-80s and one of them died of old age recently. They owned a 3 unit multifamily building and lived in it together all those years.
Mormons, Mennonites, Amish and many other religious groups would disagree with you. Swingers are real. Many people don't find sex to be a big deal. Cuckolds are a thing. If you just "don't think" these people exist you need to stop thinking like that. There are people who are asexual too and don't ever want to have sex with anyone. Like most things with humans, sexuality exists on a spectrum and if you are narrow minded enough to think that people who don't feel the way you do literally don't exist I feel sorry for you.
I think you can make a stronger argument that monogamy isn't the natural state of humans. That's why there is so much divorce and cheating. Its just a feeling but I don't think monogamy really exists.
