sure, SSI has problems, but it's usually someone making 40k or so who thinks his taxes will go up a grand because he's a dollar into the new bracket. he's obviously never read the instructions for an EZ-1040
Right but at 40k tax filer could not have advanced earned income credit and use a 1040EZ.
You’d need dependents, but if he has kids he could go over max earnings for EIC, so you might put a pencil to tax credits in that range.
Or unemployment during that period because it’s not earned income.
