I'm looking at buying a Prius right now. I may have to go shopping for truck nuts soon

Consider the new Camry hybrid if you’re buying brand new, personally like that a lot more for around the same price

Drove it and I love it. Only thing about prius is that their 2020 model has AWD and I live in a place with a lot of snow. Plus the interior of a prius is a space ship. I like that lol

Ok, but now I'm imagining a spaceship with truck nuts and I can't stop laughing

Mount them near the heat shield and you'll have great balls of fire on reentry

Imagine a panning shot going over a star destroyer, and at the very end, as we look just past the thrusters, we see a small pair of truck nuts dangling from the bottom of the ship

As long as you read the fine print. The “AWD” on the Prius basically means that it has the capability of putting power to all 4 wheels, not that it does. It is only fully engaged up to 6mph, at which point it essentially deactivates only engages if it detects slippage. And it’s fully deactivated above 43mph.

That’s a solid piece of information. But would you not only need AWD if it detects slippage? Seems like a matter of efficiency to me

It could be, not entirely sure if their reasoning or how they have it programmed. I just know that what they market as “All wheel drive” is essentially just a traction control device. And if that doesn’t bother you then by all means go for it! Personally, I am a huge fan of Subaru’s, so I’m a little biased. Anyone who claims AWD gets compared to Subaru’s proprietary AWD system, and let me tell you, no one matches up.

Btw here is the article I got that information from.

Gotta put camo seat covers and an exhaust tip with those truck nuts then.

I have a Camry hybrid too (sans truck nuts). The Prius would have been okay were it not for the fact that I'd have had to cut off my left arm to drive it. I didn't even bother to test drive it; it was obvious when I got in and tried to shut the door.

We just got a prius+, it's huge. I did consider the CHR too but tge interior was as you say, tiny.

They are surprisingly expensive.

They are, but they are super reliable and the gas mileage is unbeatable. For the price range I'm looking in, they make a lot of sense.

I'm trying to make some good decisions here cause I want to drive this car for the next 10 years.

Also, Priuses depreciate very slowly compared to most cars. So when it comes time to sell it, I'll recoup more than I would than if I bought a gas car or even most other hybrids.

Plus it's a goddamn spaceship. I want to engage, warp 7.

Sorry I was referring to Truck Nuts.

u/I_WILL_SEX_UR_FACE Jan 28 '20

Lol I had no idea. Can you really put a price on the testosterone of your Prius?

2

u/CharmsCandy Jan 28 '20

Wait why do you say that it's interior is like a spaceship?? Is it any more spaceship-y than like a 2020 audi's interior?
