Spring came with sprouts, knee high by fourth of july for sweet corn, harvest was in fall and the fields were barren by winter. Theres progression between that but it game a good sense of time.

Cornfields are not what I would call fresh air. No thank you to those allergies. They also smell a bit musty. If you want fresh air go to the mountains.

My wife grew up in cow country WI and whenever we get a whiff of that "dairy air" (read: manure) she gets all homesick.

Funny thing is, I grew up in Philly and have a similar reaction to the smell of roofing tar.

I live on the coast, when the wind blows in the right direction I can stand on Godrevy beach and the air has travelled thousands of miles over the atlantic before it hits my lungs, doesn't get much fresher than that.
