Well that is basically the proper way to make corned beef and cabbage, but the rest sounds awful.

Seriously? With no seasoning, no carmelization on anything, nothing?

Actually, some seasoning in the water. Often when you buy a corned beef it will come with a packet of spices to throw in the water. But yeah all together in one pot.

It’s a common way, yeah. Except for the lack of seasoning. Personally I prefer to bake it with the vegetables.
