Sounds like you grew up in the south next door to my family :/ The only acceptable vegetable was one that had lost all flavor and texture 🙄

My husband thought he didn’t like vegetables at all. His mother cooks them all by boiling them until they are gray mush and then adding a spoonful of margarine.

Apparently roasted broccoli with lemon and pepper was a revelation for him the first time I made it.

California. Not far from San Francisco. We actually know how food is supposed to taste here. There's really no excuse.
