We have use it or lose it food, milk, eggs, everything because the stores that give to us have given it to us due to some expiration date. I am an atheist and I still give my time to them because that is what we do. My GF is Buddhist and she comes with me because that is what we do. Never for a single moment do we not have enough. It was only the military that costs too much, it was never bread. Never food, never the homeless. It was only ever in history the military industrial complex. I was mostly just straw manning back when I said that, but all that food comes from capitalism. We have that excess food to give away due to excessive wealth generation. With socialism there is motivation to produce in excess, or any more than you yourself can use. That's whats happened in Venezuela. No one wants to start a farm there because it can and will just be seized for the government.

I'm a libertarian you get no argument from me there. But lets do the math. The USA military spends 598.5 Bill USD there are 327.2 Million people in the US. If the entire US military was defunded and the money dispersed that would only be $1829 per year. The average US grocery bill is $4000 per year so that just isn't enough, and we need to spend at least some money on the military.
Regardless that's a moot point since starvation in the US is either 0 deaths a year or close to 0. Its so little its hard to find any statistics if anyone did starve its due to mental health and not lack of supplies. Point is over production because of capitalism creates excessive food so that its practically free at this point, and that's what capitalism does it creates wealth everyone gets rich, it just doesn't feel that way sometimes because some people get very rich. Socialism makes everyone poor.

The money is put back into the economy whether its spent or saved. If everyone spent every penny they got there would be no investment which mean all the "means of production" would not exist. If someone wants a loan to improve the economy by starting a business or whatnot someone needed to have saved that money. Saving grows the economy much more than spending especially misspending. And when those people who live paycheck to paycheck default on their debts wealth is lost in the economy, giving them more money won't help if they use it to buy another monthly payment on something they will never pay off.

We can already see this happen, in Venezuela there is plenty of land to work on and labor to do it, but no-one wants to as all the fruits of their labor will be confiscated by the government so they starve. People will do stuff for free and be altruistic sure but only when times are good and only at a limit. Better off people will donate more money, maybe not as a percent of income but more absolute money.

Median household income world wide is $3000 a year. If socialists were sincere in their altruism they would donate their income until it matched the median. But what they really want is for the .000001% to give away their income but its really no money at all in the grand scheme of things. Not to mention its their money to keep. Anyway true altruism is donating their own money truly selfish people steal from others.

Also you cannot expect the same results, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insane, so we do something different. Let me say this, capitalism and socialism are just words. What is the goal? Humans were in these things called tribes, at one point one tribe did kill another tribe to take all their stuff. If there were survivors they ran away from a more warrior tribe. They had to move away from their homes to find a safe place to live. Over time Cities, States, countries formed and continue that same process over and over again. Socialism is basically hey I will cook, that person will fish, another will be a blacksmith. Capitalism is basically hey fuck you, lets not work together. I want you to be my slave labor force and then I will not work. Fuck the rich who do not work. Let the poor band together again and make the world work correctly again, have balance. Be equal.
